3 Things that make a great Open Image engagement session: 1) Great places! I have friends that ice climb in Grotto Canyon and have always talked about how amazing it was, so I was excited when Carolyn and Drew chose Grotto for their engagement photos. 2) Snow! It was 10 degrees and sunny in Calgary. You have to love weather in Alberta! 3) Like minded people! Carolyn & Drew are great! I can’t wait to photograph their wedding in Lake Louise in September.

LOVE the one with the lighting effect!!!! 3 things that make a great Open Image engagement session: 1) I chose Kananaskis Village because Rebecca and Robert wanted to head to the mountains and put on their skates! There is a great pond in the centre of the village for skating. There are also a ton of trails for cross country skiing and snowshoeing, if you haven’t been, I highly recommend it! 2) I can tell Spring is right around the corner. We had a few snowflakes, but it was warm enough to ditch the jackets, at least for a little while. 3) Rebecca was asked if she was from Hollywood, we really should have said yes and made up a great story.
no comments 3 things that make a great Open Image shoot: 1) I was able to second shoot for my good friend Joanna Kostanecki from Raw Photography 2) Alex is so beautiful. She had an Anne Hathaway vibe with her big brown eyes. 3) It was a gorgeous, warm winters day in Lake Louise, Alberta.
no comments 3 things that make a great Open Image learning experience: 1) One thing about photography is that you can always grow and learn. I called up the very talented Dave Hamilton to see if he could give me some tips and lucky for me, he was able to fit me in. 2) Most of my work is in the mountains, so once in a while it is fun to play around in a downtown environment. 3) I’m excited to experiment with these lighting techniques and some mountain biking? Anyone game to be my model?!?

no comments 3 things that make a great Open Image new born session: 1) Adventure! This kid is going to have no lack of adventure in his life! I see a lot of climbing, canoeing, riding, and biking in his future! 2) Good friends. I have been friends with Nat & Geoff for many years now and I am very happy for them both 3) Props! Between all of Geoff’s toys and Papa Gene’s antiques, we had a bunch of fun props to play with!
